When choosing cabinets, there are two construction types to consider: frame-less or framed cabinetry. Frame-less cabinetry originated in Europe and is often referred to as “full access” cabinetry because it offers greater accessibility by eliminating the face frame. Frame-less cabinetry provides you with maximum interior storage and drawer space. Framed cabinetry involves fixing a frame (face frame) to the front of the cabinet. This face frame provides strength to the front of the cabinet and is considered a visual feature that is found mostly in traditional designs.

Kitchen cabinet interiors and shelves need to be finished with a water-resistant material; this provides a wipe-clean and stain resistant interior. We offer ultra-dense 120 gram melamine in a wide range of colours and wood grain patterns, plywood with a baked-on finish, MDF with a solid lacquer, post catalyzed finish for solid coloured open cabinets, and wood veneer particle core with a lacquer post catalyzed finish for open cabinets requiring a wood finish. These cabinet materials are ideal for long lasting, high performing cabinets.

Cabinet boxes provide the structure and foundation for your kitchen. It is essential that they are built to provide maximum rigidity and strength. Many companies skimp on materials by using 1/8” hardboard backing with melamine rails.
